BGN chief meets finance minister to review MBG program
BGN flagged about 80 private schools receiving MBG even though they were judged not to need the food aid.
National Nutrition Agency head Sudaryono went to the Finance Ministry office in Jakarta on Friday to review the Free Nutritious Meals program with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. The meeting discussed execution of the current-year budget, remaining funds and next year’s needs. In the review, BGN found that about 80 private schools were included on the list of MBG recipients even though they were judged not to need the nutritious food support. The finding was discussed to make the program distribution more effective. Separately, the Finance Ministry is tightening budget oversight for MBG through its regional treasury office network, which monitors Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi in various regions.
