BGN sets Aug. 10 deadline, 950 MBG kitchens face closure
New: MBG kitchens without hygiene-sanitation certificates will be verified, and those deemed unfit could be permanently shut down.
The National Nutrition Agency has set an Aug. 10, 2026 deadline for Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi that have not yet obtained a Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility Certificate to complete the operational requirements for the Free Nutritious Meals Program. BGN head Sudaryono said the certificate is mandatory because it serves as the basis for assessing cleanliness and food safety in MBG kitchens. BGN said about 950 kitchens are believed not to meet hygiene and sanitation standards and will be checked one by one. If the assessment determines a kitchen is unfit, operations will be permanently stopped. BGN has also sent a circular to regional officials to help process the SLHS at district and city health offices.
