Bezos-backed group advances talks for 30% Liverpool stake
What's new: The investor group is led by Amit Bhatia and includes Eduardo Saverin as Liverpool weighs a minority deal.
A consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has advanced talks to buy about a 30% stake in Liverpool FC, BBC Sport reported. The group is led by British-Indian businessman Amit Bhatia and also includes Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. Liverpool owner Fenway Sports Group said last month the investors had expressed interest in a strategic minority investment in the club. FSG bought Liverpool for £300 million in 2010 and later sold a minority stake to Dynasty Equity. The talks come after Liverpool posted record revenue of £703 million for the 2024-25 financial year and topped Deloitte's ranking as the Premier League's highest-earning club.
