Beyonce and Taylor Swift expressed grief and paid tribute to Dolly Parton, the country music legend who died at 80 in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, after battling cancer. On her website, Beyonce described Parton as a brave, brilliant role model with a wide impact on many people. The two previously collaborated on Cowboy Carter in 2024, when Beyonce also covered the classic “Jolene”. Taylor Swift, quoted by Variety, said a world without Parton felt unreal and said the musician's legacy would live on through her work and influence. Swift also cited the millions of books Parton distributed to children in various countries as part of her philanthropic legacy.
