Clash on Jalan Tambak Menteng kills 1 person
Police have brought in eight people for questioning, while another victim remains in critical condition at RSCM.
A clash between two groups of residents on Jalan Tambak, Kelurahan Pegangsaan, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday killed one person and left another victim in critical condition. Police received a report at around 10:00 WIB and said the disturbance was believed to have started with an argument at a nasi uduk stall. In the initial inquiry, one group came to buy breakfast, left and returned with companions before allegedly damaging the vendor's cart. Nearby residents then fought back and the clash spread. Police said a semi-permanent building and four motorcycles were burned. The victims were taken to Rumah Sakit Cipto Mangunkusumo. Police also secured eight people for questioning and are still examining the identities of those involved, including their status at the scene.
