Bener Meriah seeks new land for Sekolah Rakyat stage three
The land requirement rose from 5 hectares to at least 6.8 hectares, and two more months of living aid are due this week.
The Ministry of Social Affairs asked the Bener Meriah Regency Government to quickly replace the proposed site for Sekolah Rakyat so the project can enter the third stage of construction this year. In an audience at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Monday (22/6), Bener Meriah Regent Armia said the original 5-hectare plot in the city center did not meet the requirements. The ministry said the proposal can still be processed if the local government provides at least 6.8 hectares, along with basic readiness such as electricity and water. Jauhari, a representative of the Joint Secretariat for Sekolah Rakyat, said 7 to 8 hectares would be more ideal for optimal facilities. The meeting also covered flood recovery. The ministry recorded Rp495 juta in death benefits for 33 heirs, Rp3.78 miliar in housing contents aid for 1,261 households, Rp6.3 miliar in economic empowerment aid, and Rp2.01 miliar in first-stage living assistance for 4,468 people. The next two months of living aid are expected to be distributed soon through PT Pos.
