Bendung Katulampa in Bogor runs dry, water level at 0 cm
The 0-centimeter reading has held for two days, while upstream flow is being routed to irrigation to keep Kali Baru from drying out.
The flow of the Ciliwung River at Bendung Katulampa in Bogor City has shrunk to the point that the water level has reached 0 centimeters and has remained there for the past two days. The drought conditions have left large rocks on the riverbed clearly visible around the spillway. Bendung Katulampa officer Subhan said the drop was caused by minimal rainfall upstream along the Ciliwung, including the Puncak area, over the past two weeks. Amid the conditions, managers are prioritizing flow from upstream to Kali Baru through an irrigation channel so water flushing can continue and the river ecosystem does not dry out. BMKG previously forecast the 2026 dry season to be drier and longer than normal, with a peak from July to September because of El Nino.
