BEM UI and UNJ prepare June 12 rally in Jakarta against MBG
The Patung Kuda rally is set to start at 10.00 WIB, while UNJ's long march at 13.00 adds demands on UKT and a stalled building project.
Several student executive boards in Jabodetabek and the UNJ student alliance are preparing a protest in Jakarta on Friday, June 12, 2026, with rejection of the free nutritious meals program (MBG) among the main issues. BEM UI said the rally in the Patung Kuda area on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat will begin at 10.00 WIB and will be joined by BEM IPB, Universitas Pancasila, and Universitas Gunadarma, among others. They are bringing five demands, including ending APBN waste, lowering the prices of basic goods and fuel, stopping MBG and Koperasi Desa Merah Putih, and rejecting civilian militarism. Separately, Aliansi UNJ Melawan will hold a long march from Rawamangun to the UNJ Pemuda gate at 13.00 WIB. In addition to national issues, UNJ students are also demanding adjustments to UKT and faster construction of the Saudi Fund for Development building, which they say remains stalled.
