BEI to drop 80 HSC stocks from IHSG, 18% weight
The stocks will still trade, but their price moves will no longer sway the market benchmark.
Bursa Efek Indonesia will remove all shares classified as high shareholding concentration (HSC) from the calculation of the Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan. There are currently 80 HSC stocks with a weight of about 18 percent in IHSG. BEI President Director Jeffrey Hendrik said the move is intended to make IHSG movements reflect market conditions more normally and to strengthen capital market integrity. The shares will not be delisted and can still be traded, but price changes will no longer affect IHSG. Previously, HSC stocks were already removed from IDX30, LQ45, and IDX80. BEI is also preparing to add affiliate or non-affiliate labels in publications of shareholders with at least 1 percent ownership, but the effective date for both policies has not been announced.
