Bea Cukai Batam seizes 32,790 illegal cigarettes, saves Rp33 juta
The July 27-30 operation targeted Batam retailers and will be used to trace the production source and distribution routes.
Bea Cukai Batam seized 32,790 illegal cigarettes in a Cukai Operation on July 27-30, 2026 in Batam, Kepulauan Riau. From the enforcement action, the value of the goods was estimated at Rp 50,5 juta and the potential state loss prevented at around Rp 33,1 juta. Officers swept a number of locations identified through area mapping and intelligence processing, then inspected retail business premises and tracked operation targets. The cigarettes seized included the Manchester, R7Bold, H&D, PSG, H-Mild, T3 and OFO brands. Bea Cukai Batam head Agung Widodo said the results of the operation would be examined further to trace the source of the goods and their distribution routes, including through coordination with other Bea Cukai units and law enforcement agencies.
