Bea Cukai-Bareskrim seize 80 kg of meth from Malaysia ring
Four people were arrested in Rokan Hilir, and 5,200 MDMA pills were believed bound for Palembang by land.
Bea Cukai and Bareskrim Polri dismantled a Malaysia-Indonesia narcotics network in an operation from 26 July to 1 August 2026, seizing about 80 kilograms of methamphetamine and 5,200 MDMA pills. The case began with information on a plan to smuggle narcotics from Malaka, Malaysia, through the eastern coast of Sumatra to Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. On 29 July at about 14.00 WIB, the team learned the goods had landed in the Suak Padamaran II tributary, Pekaitan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau. A man was arrested while moving four cartons containing 80 Chinese tea packages that held the methamphetamine. The case led to the arrests of AR, TM, and SH the same day. Investigators identified AR as the field controller, while the cargo was picked up from the middle of the sea by I.
