Baznas, Danantara activate Zakat Collection Units at all BUMN
The pact also covers mosque and pesantren cooperatives and channels aid through 13 Baznas mustahik programs.
Baznas RI, BPI Danantara, the Ministry of Cooperatives, and Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the zakat and sharia cooperative ecosystem in Indonesia. One of the main steps is the formation and activation of Zakat Collection Units across all BUMN to collect zakat, infak, sedekah, and other religious social funds. Baznas chairman Sodik Mudjahid said the collections will be forwarded to Baznas, while distribution will be directed to social programs and BUMN-supported mustahik. BPI Danantara head Rosan Perkasa Roeslani added that the collaboration also includes mosque cooperatives, pesantren cooperatives, santri entrepreneurship development, and links with sharia banks, sharia insurance, and other sharia financial services in the BUMN ecosystem.
