Bareskrim names 30 suspects in Sukoharjo casino case
Police seized Rp1,048 billion and are still pursuing the handlers of transactions, chips and CCTV monitoring.
Bareskrim Polri has dismantled a casino gambling operation at Gedung SB in Sukoharjo, Central Java, and named 30 suspects after securing 71 people at the scene. The case stemmed from an investigation by Polda Maluku and was then followed up with Polda Jawa Tengah and Bareskrim. At the location, officers found baccarat, niu-niu and fish-shooting machines that were allegedly used for betting. The suspects were said to have different roles, ranging from cashier, card dealer and chip exchanger to CCTV operator, arena technician and service staff. Investigators also seized Rp1.048.273.000 in cash, mobile phones, computers, gambling tables, poker chips, cards, card shufflers, cash boxes and CCTV equipment. Dirtipidum Bareskrim Brigjen Wira Satya Triputra said the investigation is continuing to trace the operators and supporting parties.
