World Bank taps Sri Mulyani to lead IDA22 fundraising

The process will secure concessional financing for 78 countries through 2031, with an official launch in Tashkent in December 2026.

World Bank has selected Sri Mulyani Indrawati as independent co-chair for the replenishment of the International Development Association’s 22nd round, or IDA22. She will lead the process with Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer World Bank Group Paschal Donohoe after being chosen by a committee of donor and borrowing IDA member countries. In the role, Sri Mulyani is tasked with strengthening policy support and financing for IDA22. IDA is one of the largest sources of financing for low-income countries, through low-interest or zero-interest loans and grants. Since 1960, the institution has disbursed more than 632 billion dollar AS to 115 countries. The IDA22 cycle will be launched at the Mid-Term Review in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in December 2026, and will close with a financing pledge meeting in December 2027.
