Bandara Husein Bandung readied to resume jet flights
The airport is targeted to handle scheduled domestic and international routes, with PKP-PK capacity rising from category 5 to 7.
InJourney Airports is speeding up operational readiness at Bandara Husein Sastranegara in Bandung so it can again serve scheduled domestic and international commercial flights with jet and propeller aircraft. The move follows a letter from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, No. AU.102/1/8/DRJU.DAU/2026. At present, Husein only handles scheduled domestic propeller flights on intra-Java routes. InJourney has formed an Operational Readiness Activation and Transition team to prepare safety, security and service aspects. Preparations include raising PKP-PK capacity from category 5 to 7, adding foam tender vehicles, aviation security personnel, resurfacing the runway in several sectors, and checking the taxiway, apron, terminal, immigration and customs.
