Bali rail project budgeted at Rp2 trillion, 2-phase route
The project is targeted for completion in about two years, with the first phase linking Ngurah Rai Airport to Legian.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia said the government has set aside more than Rp2 trillion for a train or tram service project in Bali. KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said the project will be divided into two phases, namely I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport-Legian and Legian-Canggu, with construction expected to take about two years. Bobby outlined the plan after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday. In the same meeting, KAI also discussed speeding up the revitalization of Gambir Station, which will be integrated with the redevelopment of the Monumen Nasional area. The Gambir overhaul is estimated at around Rp2 trillion, with work targeted for completion in 2028 and linked to MRT Jakarta.
