Bali landslide buries 2 tourists, 123 personnel search
One victim was identified as Bangkit Mubarok, while the other was a foreign national; rain and steep terrain hamper the search.
A series of landslides at Eco Park Pelaga Glamping Retreat in Pelaga village, Petang district, Badung regency, Bali, buried two tourists and remained under search by a joint team on Monday (2/11). The first landslide struck at about Sunday (1/11) 23.00 Wita, followed by a second at about 23.20 Wita that brought down several glamping structures and swept debris into a river channel. One of the missing victims is Bangkit Mubarok (30), an Indonesian citizen, while the other is a foreign national whose identity has not been confirmed. The operation involves 123 personnel from Basarnas, BPBD, Polri, Brimob and TNI. Heavy rain since the afternoon, steep access, and the risk of another landslide and rising river levels have slowed the search. In Gianyar, a landslide also caused a road in Banjar Gambih, Buahan village, Payangan, to collapse by about 15 meters.
