Bahlil targets full electricity access in 11,000 villages by 2029-2030

The government is targeting 250,000 free connections in 2026, rising to 400,000 households in 2027.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has asked regional governments and PLN to map villages, hamlets and households that still lack electricity so all villages in Indonesia can be electrified by 2029-2030. During an inspection of the Listrik Desa and Bantuan Pasang Baru Listrik programs in Muara Baru village, Cilamaya Wetan, Karawang, on Thursday, Bahlil said about 11,000 villages in Indonesia still do not have access to electricity. At the site, the government is building 0.549 kilometers of medium-voltage lines, 0.91 kilometers of low-voltage lines and one 50 kVA distribution transformer for 93 prospective customers. In Jawa Barat, BPBL is targeted to reach 25,000 households in 2026; in Karawang, the target is 683 households.
