Father, 6-month-old baby die in house fire in Cirebon
Police are autopsying the two victims and questioning witnesses to determine whether they died from the fire or another cause.
A father and his 6-month-old son were found dead inside a house that caught fire in Perum Griya Asri Kejuden 2, Desa Kejuden, Kecamatan Depok, Kabupaten Cirebon, on Friday morning. The victims were identified as Deni Sumampaw (57) and BAS. Polresta Cirebon is still investigating the cause of death, with autopsies and forensic checks underway. The fire was first seen at about 09.45 WIB. Residents broke into the locked house and tried to put out the flames. The baby was found near a window or in the living room, while Deni was found in the kitchen area near the stairs or sink. Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran Kabupaten Cirebon received the report at 09.50 WIB, sent two units from Weru and Palimanan, and extinguished the fire at 10.29 WIB before police cordoned off the scene.
