Australia GP canceled, Veda Ega turns to Sepang

The Phillip Island pole lost a chance for points, and the Honda Team Asia rookie now targets Malaysia on 30 October-1 November.

Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama is shifting his focus to the Moto3 GP Malaysia after the Australia GP at Phillip Island was canceled on Sunday because of thick fog. The weather conditions prevented the safety helicopter from operating, so the race was not held. The cancellation ended Veda's chance to score valuable points, even though the Yogyakarta rider had started from pole position. In a statement from Honda Team Asia, Veda described the day as one of the most disappointing Sundays of his life, but he still took positives from a weekend at a circuit he had ridden for the first time. The Moto3 2026 rookie will next race at the Sepang Circuit on 30 October to 1 November while keeping his hopes alive in the rookie of the year battle.
