Attorney General’s Office ends MBG data gathering after July 10 letter

The suspension covers all provincial prosecutors after controversy over SPPG data collection in Jawa Tengah.

The Attorney General’s Office has stopped collecting data and information related to the implementation of the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program through a letter dated July 10, 2026. Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, said the move was taken because the data collection period had ended and to prevent the earlier letter from being misused in implementation. Before the halt, Jampidsus, in a June 15, 2026 letter, asked all provincial prosecutors to inventory and report problems in MBG implementation. The decision follows a media controversy over data collection at the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) in Jawa Tengah. The Jawa Tengah prosecutor’s office said there had been no search, questioning, or arrest of SPPG managers; district prosecutors were only recording data and information in the field.
