Aston Villa take Garnacho on loan with buy clause from Chelsea
What's next: Villa could make the move permanent next summer if conditions are met, with Chelsea expecting about £43 million.
Aston Villa signed Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan through the end of the 2026-27 campaign, with a conditional obligation to buy built into the deal. The 22-year-old Argentina international has already agreed a four-year contract at Villa Park if the transfer becomes permanent next summer. British media reported Chelsea expect the conditions to be met and value the move at about £43 million. Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United for £40 million last year but managed one Premier League goal and eight goals in 43 appearances in all competitions. Villa moved after selling Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for a club-record £117 million as Unai Emery reshapes his squad under financial restrictions.
