Arrmanatha Nasir formally takes over as Indonesia's foreign minister
The handover at the Foreign Ministry's Pancasila Building included transfer of office records from Sugiono to his successor.
Arrmanatha Nasir formally took over as Indonesia's Minister of Foreign Affairs from Sugiono in a handover ceremony at the Pancasila Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (12/10). The ceremony opened with the Indonesian national anthem, followed by the reading and signing of the official report, then the transfer of office records. After the proceedings, the two shook hands, embraced and posed for photos before the agenda continued behind closed doors. Arrmanatha, known as Tata, previously served as deputy foreign minister. President Prabowo Subianto appointed him as foreign minister on 1 October to replace Sugiono, who has moved on to become Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs.
