Apple rolls out Siri AI revamp at WWDC, with EU launch delayed

What's next: A beta reaches supported English-language devices later this year, but Apple said it will not ship in the EU yet.

Apple used its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday to roll out a major Siri overhaul, aiming to answer criticism that it has lagged rivals in artificial intelligence. The revamped assistant will work across Apple devices and apps, and the company said it will draw on past user interactions, image understanding and broader knowledge to become more conversational and useful. Apple also introduced trust and safety changes in iOS 27, including an expanded “ask” feature for parents. A Siri AI beta is due later this year for supported devices set to English. Apple said the feature will not launch in the European Union after regulators there rejected its proposals for supporting other virtual assistants safely.
