Anthropic files for IPO that could rank among the biggest ever

What's next: The AI company plans a Wall Street debut next month and said it aims to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT.

Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering that could become one of the largest stock debuts ever, setting up the artificial intelligence company for a Wall Street listing next month. The filing positions Anthropic ahead of rival OpenAI in the race to public markets and comes as competition intensifies among AI developers. In its regulatory paperwork, the company said it plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT. The filing also lands weeks after chief executive Dario Amodei argued for slowing development of the most advanced AI models, even as the company seeks fresh capital to expand.
