Amri/Nita reach BWF World Championships 2026 semifinals
The Indonesian mixed doubles pair have already surpassed their top-four target and now are eyeing a final berth in New Delhi.
Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah advanced to the semifinals of the BWF World Championships 2026 after beating Taiwan's No. 11 seeds, Yang Po-Hsuan/Hu Ling Fang, 21-18, 21-9 in the quarterfinals in New Delhi, India. The straight-game win sent the Indonesian mixed doubles pair past their original target of reaching the last four. Amri said they had trailed at the interval in the first game but turned things around after finding their rhythm. In the second game, Amri/Nita kept the momentum and finished the match in control. Nita said the opponents played faster than in the previous round, so she tried to be more active at the front court and make the most of serve and receive. After securing their semifinal place, they are now targeting a spot in the final.
