Amran removes 14 Kementan officials over alleged billions
Inspector General Irham Waroihan has up to three months to finish the probe; if state losses are proven, the case goes to law enforcement.
Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman removed 14 officials from the Kementerian Pertanian, from echelon I to echelon III, on Tuesday (18/8/2026) in Jakarta, after allegations emerged of irregularities involving billions of rupiah. The dismissals came alongside the swearing-in of more than 30 officials as part of an internal reshuffle. The 14 officials were temporarily left without posts while they undergo questioning. Amran said that if the allegations are proven to have caused state losses, the matter will be handed to law enforcement; if not, they could be reinstated and even promoted. He gave Inspector General Irham Waroihan up to three months to complete the investigation, and left open the possibility of additional dismissals. According to Amran, the move has also been reported to Prabowo Subianto.
