Algeria rally to beat Jordan 2-1, stay alive

Algeria kept their hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup knockout stage alive after rallying to beat Jordan 2-1 in their second Group J match at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara, Tuesday morning WIB. Jordan had gone ahead through a strike by Nizar Al Rashdan in the 36th minute. After halftime, Vladimir Petkovic's side equalized through a Nadir Benbouali header in the 69th minute from a Riyad Mahrez cross. The winner came in the 82nd minute when Amine Gouiri pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area. The result was Algeria's first win and kept them in the race for the knockout stage, while Jordan were confirmed eliminated. In their final match, Algeria will face Austria in a decisive clash.
