Ajaib secures Rp4.8 trillion investment from Japan's SBI Holdings

The amount equals about 80 percent of all startup funding raised in Indonesia through 2025.

Ajaib Group has secured a strategic investment of 270 million U.S. dollars, or about Rp4.8 trillion, from Japan's SBI Holdings in one of the largest funding rounds for an Indonesian technology startup in the past five years. Co-Founder and CEO Ajaib Anderson Sumarli said the funds will be used to strengthen human resources, especially in technology, product, business and operations, and to expand investment options for users in domestic and overseas markets, including digital assets. Ajaib President Commissioner Andi Gani Nena Wea said about 90 percent of the funds will be used in Indonesia, including for financial education, product development and talent. Total capital raised by Ajaib since its founding now exceeds 500 million U.S. dollars.
