After fan intimidation at GBK, Beckham Putra backs Indonesia
The incident followed Indonesia’s match against Mozambik, and PSSI is said to plan sanctions against the culprit.
Beckham Putra said he remains committed to representing Indonesia after being treated inappropriately by a group of fans at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, following the 1-0 win over Mozambik on Tuesday night. In video circulating on social media, the Persib Bandung midfielder was seen in a confrontation with fans before Kevin Diks stepped in to calm him down. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Beckham wrote that he always gives “100 percent even more” for Indonesia and that outside comments will not change his determination to fight for Merah Putih. The 24-year-old has made eight caps and scored two goals since his debut in June last year. In his last two appearances, he featured in Indonesia’s 3-0 win over Oman and 1-0 victory over Mozambik.
