867 Ancak Agung parade in Jember breaks MURI record again
Also recorded: a 3.7-meter tower of 1,600 packs of suwar-suwir was recognized during the Maulid Nabi observance.
The Ancak Agung parade in Jember broke a Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) record again after 867 ancak were paraded from Jalan Gajahmada to Alun-Alun Kabupaten Jember on Saturday afternoon. The total topped the previous record, also set by Jember, of 449 ancak agung. At the same event, a tower of Jember’s signature suwar-suwir also set a record with 1,600 packs stacked to a height of 3.7 meters. The parade was held by the Jember Regency Government to mark Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW and to enliven the 81st anniversary of RI independence. According to MURI, it was the largest number of ancak ever recorded. After documentation was completed, hundreds of the towers were claimed by residents in the town square, and the agricultural produce was distributed to the public.
