63 arrested after Knicks title celebration turns violent in New York

New York City's celebrations after the Knicks won their first NBA championship in 53 years spilled into violence overnight, leaving 63 people arrested and multiple people injured. Police said a 17-year-old was shot near 42nd Street and Broadway around 2 a.m. in Times Square, where crowds had surged after New York rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5. Four other people were stabbed or slashed, and officers recovered a gun and took three people into custody in the shooting. Police also said a school bus being used for World Cup transportation was set ablaze, while other buses and five police cars were damaged. The city plans to hold a championship parade and City Hall ceremony on Thursday.
