Five people were wounded, including one critically, in an early Saturday shooting outside residence halls at Virginia State University in Ettrick, Virginia. Officers responded around 1:28 a.m. on Boisseau Street near the Quad Annexes student housing complex and found five people with gunshot wounds, the university said. One victim was a student who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was later released from a hospital. Lt. James R. Lamb of Chesterfield County police said investigators believe more than one shooter was involved and that no one was in custody. A temporary campus lockdown was lifted later Saturday, though a significant police presence remained as Chesterfield County police led the investigation with campus and local agencies.
