5 Azerbaijani crew members killed in Sea of Azov vessel strikes
What's new: Ukraine said its drones hit five ships near Mariupol and Berdyansk that it accused of moving grain, fuel and military cargo.
Five Azerbaijani citizens were killed and three others were injured in attacks on two cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said Friday. The ministry said the crews on the two ships included 25 Azerbaijani citizens in total, though the vessels were not Azerbaijani-owned. The strikes took place in Taganrog Bay. Earlier Friday, Ukraine said its drones had struck five ships in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk and in coastal waters of Russian-controlled territory. Ukrainian drone forces commander Robert Brovdi said the targets included dry cargo ships and a tanker he accused of carrying stolen Ukrainian grain as well as military cargo and fuel.
