4 Men Arrested After Danramil, Police Chief Are Beaten in Cicalengka
Police are still hunting another suspect, allegedly wearing a Karang Taruna uniform, as investigators probe the brawl.
Police arrested four men after a disturbance during the 81st anniversary of RI carnival in Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency, ended with the beating of Cicalengka Danramil Captain Inf Sumarna Chaerul and Cicalengka Police Chief Kompol Ade Rahmat. Bandung Police Chief Kombes Aldi Subartono said the four detained were identified by the initials RF, IA, YP, and F. The incident occurred on Monday, 17 August, at about 11:45 WIB when a carnival group from Tenjolaya Village passed the Forkopimcam podium for judging. As the commotion broke out, the police chief, Danramil, and Cicalengka Subdistrict Head Cucu Hidayat stepped in to separate those involved, but they were instead attacked. Police said several victims suffered facial injuries and are still investigating the possible involvement of others, including one suspect said to have been wearing a Karang Taruna uniform.
