38-year-old driver dies after car overturns in Hougang crash

A 38-year-old man died after the car he was driving overturned along Hougang Avenue 6 toward Hougang Avenue 10 early on Aug. 7 in Singapore. Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted at about 4:20 a.m. Authorities said the car was believed to have self-skidded. SCDF officers found the driver trapped inside the vehicle and used hydraulic rescue equipment to free him. He was taken unconscious to Sengkang General Hospital, where he later died. Photos published by local media showed a dark-colored car on its side on the central divider with debris scattered around it. Witnesses quoted by local outlets said the car may have struck roadside fixtures before overturning. Police investigations are ongoing.
