30-Year-Old Algerian National Evacuated from Danau Sunter After 3 Hours
Tanjung Priok Immigration later found BZ held an investor KITAS and is now examining him after the repeated stunt.
An Algerian national identified as BZ, 30, was evacuated from Danau Sunter in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Sunday night after more than three hours of negotiations while he remained submerged in the water. Officers evacuated him at 21.41 WIB in safe condition and took him to the Tanjung Priok Immigration Office. According to officers, BZ had been carrying out a faith ritual by staying in the water since the afternoon. Residents reported the incident around 18.00 WIB because the action was considered to endanger him. The North Jakarta and Kepulauan Seribu fire and rescue agency deployed six personnel along with Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, and immigration officers. Immigration later found that BZ was recorded as holding a KITAS with investor status, although he did not have his passport or supporting documents when questioned.
