3 die after supply boat sinks in collision off Singapore port

Three people died after a supply boat sank following a collision with a landing craft off Pasir Panjang Terminal in Singapore on Thursday morning. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore said the vessels collided at about 9:30 a.m., triggering a search-and-rescue response involving the authority, the Police Coast Guard and the Singapore Civil Defence Force Marine Division. Police recovered three bodies from waters off Pasir Panjang Wharf; the dead were believed to be crew members of the sunken boat and were ages 38 to 53. Authorities said the landing craft remained stable and no injuries were reported aboard it. Port operations were not disrupted, and navigational alerts were issued to keep other vessels away from the area.
