3 buskers burn house fence in Bekasi, 1 suspect held
Police said the suspect is now in custody at Polsek Pondok Gede, while motive and the sequence of events are under investigation.
Three buskers were recorded on CCTV setting fire to part of the fence of a resident's home in Jatiwaringin, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, West Java. The circulating footage shows them approaching houses in the area, then stopping at a white house with a black fence. Two were singing while carrying musical instruments, while another briefly peered inside the house. When no one came out, one busker was seen moving to the end of the fence, bending down, and then flames appeared from fiberglass attached to the fence. CNN Indonesia said the act was allegedly triggered after they were not given money. AKBP Andi M Iqbal, head of criminal investigations at Polres Metro Bekasi Kota, said the suspect has been secured at Polsek Pondok Gede, but police have not yet detailed the motive or the sequence of events.
