270 students at permanent Medan Sekolah Rakyat start MPLS July 14

A total of 270 students at the permanent Sekolah Rakyat in Medan are scheduled to begin Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah on Tuesday, July 14. Medan city government said the students come from three levels: 120 high school students, 90 junior high school students, and 60 elementary school students. Medan Social Service head Khoiruddin Rangkuti said the students will begin school orientation on the first day. The Medan program is part of the first simultaneous national rollout. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said MPLS at Sekolah Rakyat will be held in four waves: 19 permanent schools on July 14, 63 permanent schools on July 31, eight pilot schools in Jabodetabek on August 15, and 11 permanent schools on August 31. All waves will use the same framework, namely 19 days in four phases, followed by matriculation before regular classes and full boarding life.
