2 SMK students arrested during exam after Palmerah attack

The victim suffered a cut to the right shoulder requiring seven stitches; police are still hunting for another suspect and probing the motive.

Police arrested two SMK students, identified as AS and MF, while they were taking an exam at school on Wednesday (10/6), after they were involved in the slashing of another student, identified as F, in Palmerah, West Jakarta. The attack occurred on Tuesday (9/6) morning in Gang T, Palmerah Barat VI, as the victim was on the way to school. CCTV footage led police to conclude that one suspect struck the victim with a belt and the other swung a machete. F suffered a tear to the right shoulder and received treatment with seven stitches. Palmerah police chief AKP Parman BM Nainggolan said the victim and the two suspects did not know each other. Investigators at Palmerah Police are still searching for another suspect and tracing the motive for the attack. Because the suspects are minors, the legal process falls under the Child Protection Law.
