2 drones strike Iraqi Kurdistan PM office, no casualties

Security authorities in Kurdistan said the attack was launched from Iranian territory, but no group has claimed responsibility.

Two drones struck the office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq on Monday, with no reports of casualties. The Kurdistan Regional Government security agency said the attack also targeted the home of the region’s intelligence chief. Local authorities accused the drones of being launched from Iranian territory, but did not say whether the intended targets were actually hit. No group has claimed responsibility. Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani condemned the attack as a dangerous escalation for regional security and stability. Iraqi Kurdistan has repeatedly been targeted by drones and rockets. In July 2025, a four-day attack on oil fields halted nearly half of the region’s crude output.
