Clash during TNI eviction in Lenteng Agung injures residents, students

The land dispute remains in court, while residents say power and water were cut as the eviction continued through June 12.

The eviction of residents' homes by TNI in RW 10 Lenteng Agung, Jagakarsa, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, turned into a clash that injured residents and Universitas Indonesia students. BEM UI and BEM FH UI said the violence occurred when residents and students tried to block officers entering the neighborhood. A student, Muhammad Rafi Raditya, said he was kicked, hit, punched and headbutted. According to a resident advocate, the land dispute is still being reviewed by the court after residents sued TNI AD's claim to the former Zikon area. Residents also said they had proof of cultivation rights backed by documents from Badan Pertanahan Nasional. Tempo reported the eviction began on June 9 and was scheduled to continue through June 12, with food supplies disrupted after electricity and water were cut off. Dispenad said 36 households had voluntarily handed over the official residences at the site.
