14-Year-Old Student Shoots 2 Teachers at Aubagne School
Marseille prosecutors opened an attempted murder probe after the suspect fired again into an occupied classroom.
A 14-year-old student shot two teachers at Collège Joseph-Lakanal in Aubagne, southern France, Monday morning before being subdued by a school staff member. The 53-year-old head of school and a 37-year-old female teacher were injured, but both were reported not to be in life-threatening condition. Marseille prosecutors opened an investigation into suspected attempted murder. According to local officials, the suspect entered carrying a 12-gauge hunting rifle hidden in a guitar case or bag. After firing on the first floor, he went to the second floor and fired two more shots, including one into a classroom that was in use and hit the whiteboard. No students were injured, but the school suspended classes and prepared psychological support.
