12 police dormitory homes burn in Solo, 10 families affected

The fire began around 16.00 WIB and was out by 18.20; no one was killed, while losses are still being assessed.

A fire broke out at 12 official homes in the Panularan Police Dormitory, Surakarta, on Friday (31/7) afternoon, affecting 10 households. Two other homes that were also damaged were unoccupied. Surakarta Police Chief Catur Cahyono said there were no fatalities, while the losses so far are material and the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. The blaze started around 16.00 WIB and spread quickly because the homes were close together. Six fire trucks were deployed along with personnel from Polri, PMI, BPBD, volunteers and residents. The fire was brought under control at about 18.20 WIB. Surakarta Mayor Respati Ardi visited the site to ensure assistance for affected residents and the evacuation process were handled.
