10 China nationals deported from Jakarta after visa work

They were flown out via Soekarno-Hatta to Guangzhou and placed on the blacklist after the July 15-17 operation.

The Class I Immigration Office TPI Jakarta Utara deported 10 China nationals who were working as construction laborers at the Pluit Karang Sari project in Penjaringan, even though they had entered Indonesia on a C2 Visit Visa. Officers found them during an inspection operation on July 15, 2026 after receiving a public report. According to Jakarta Utara Immigration chief Rendra Mauliansyah, some of the workers were assembling steel and building columns, while others were cutting wood and metal for the main frame. Immigration said the activity violated Article 122 of the Immigration Law because it did not match the purpose of their stay permits. They were first held in a detention room, then on July 17 were ordered deported and barred from re-entry. The return was carried out through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on the Jakarta-Guangzhou route.
