1 killed, 5 wounded in central Israel shooting attack

A 35-year-old man was killed and five others were wounded in a series of shootings in central Israel on June 7 near the occupied West Bank, in what police described as a suspected terror attack. Israel’s ambulance service said the attack unfolded as a drive-by shooting at three nearby locations, with two of the injured in serious condition. Police said the suspected gunman, an Israeli Arab from Tayibe, was killed and a firearm was recovered. Israeli media reported a second suspect was also killed. The shootings occurred near the Palestinian city of Qalqilya. Hamas praised the attack but did not claim responsibility. Israeli soldiers were deployed to one scene and to a nearby settlement in the West Bank as searches continued.
