Prabowo, Gibran and Jokowi watch air show at Istana
A total of 81 military assets took part, including Rafale fighters appearing for the first time in Independence Day events.
President Prabowo Subianto sat side by side with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and former president Joko Widodo while watching an air display after the 81st Independence Day ceremony at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Monday morning. The show was part of the Independence Day commemorations, with 81 main weapons systems deployed, including aircraft and helicopters. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said Rafale fighter jets took part for the first time in the Aug. 17 celebrations. Along with the Rafale, the Indonesian Air Force also flew the Airbus A400M, F-16, Sukhoi 27/30, Hawk 100/200, T-50i Golden Eagle, and several helicopters. The palace said the seating arrangement for Prabowo, Gibran and Jokowi was adjusted to fit the guests present and space limitations.
