Kemenag Allocates Rp85 Billion for Aceh Disaster Recovery
The funding includes rebuilding MIN 5 Pidie Jaya, rehabilitating 64 KUA, and aid for 85 mosques and prayer rooms.
Kementerian Agama is distributing more than Rp85 billion for post-disaster recovery in Aceh in the 2025 and 2026 budget years. The funds will be used to rehabilitate and rebuild religious education facilities, houses of worship, and Kantor Urusan Agama services in flood-hit areas. Minister of Religious Affairs Expert Staff for Human Rights and Law Faisal Ali Hasyim said the 2025 budget from Ditjen Pendidikan Islam totals Rp46,38 billion, reaching 131 private madrasah, 169 public madrasah, 18 Islamic boarding schools, 6.809 teachers and education staff, one PTKIN, four PTKIS, and 1.124 students. In 2026, Kemenag is preparing Rp14,24 billion, including for rebuilding MIN 5 Pidie Jaya, which was swept away. In the Islamic guidance sector, Rp24,46 billion has been allocated to rehabilitate 64 KUA, distribute 6.000 copies of the Al Quran, and repair 85 mosques and prayer rooms.
